Lettye Leon Hollingsworth, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Hospice House.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Thomas A. Hollingsworth.
Lettye was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a native of Savannah, and a lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She was a past member of the Tybee Island Garden Club, Tybee Island Beautification Committee, and the DD's Social Club. Lettye was also a volunteer for many years at Hospice House and Oceanside Nursing Home.
She will be deeply missed by her three children, Janis H. Bowers Greg, of Savannah, Thomas A. Hollingsworth Martha, of Marietta, and Mark L. Hollingsworth Pam, of Effingham County. She is also survived by her brother, George J. Leon, of Savannah. She was a loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 26, 2012 at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park with the Reverend Ernest King officiating.
